By the Nine! More Skyrim details hit the ground

Once again those gorgeous guys and gals over at Game Informer have shared some more details from Bethesda with us lowly mortals. These are more or less an expansion on the previous details but it's still damn interesting to hear more from the game that's going to see me wasting away to nothing over winter. Hit the jump for my goodies.

  • The engine, the Creation Engine, will have massively improved dynamic lighting and shadow capabilities, snow fall will accumulate realistically in the environment and the engine ensures that animations will run much more fluidly and realistically.
  • Radiant AI has been massively improved, NPC's will treat you realistically and differently based upon your relationship with that person. No longer will I be a victim of mob justice for accidentally picking up an apple.
  • The random encounters that we loved in Fallout and Daggerfall make a wonderful return. So far we know they range from helping Mammoths to helping Priest's and this journalist is hoping for some mix of the two...
  • Radiant Story, ensures that you will never run out of things to do by creating quests on the fly for you to complete, such as assassinating someone you may have spent time with previously or rescuing a kidnapped soul from a dungeon that you haven't yet plundered. Bethesda calls this 'Conditionalizing'
  • And the third person system has been refined combat timings in particular. Which personally never bothered me beforehand.
As you can see this game is shaping up quite nicely and there is more than enough already on show to excite even the most unimaginative of people. Even those not fans of the series or genre here and SaD are impressed by the tech on offer. The real intrigue however, is that while the Dragon and Mammoth animations have been given high praise due to how unique they're animations are, rather coincidentally, Todd Howard also told Game Informer 'We're not talking about mounts yet'. Oh Todd you little minx. Give me a fucking Dragon!
